Andy & Val Simcock have been married more than 30 years, have 4 sons and have been Christians for more than 32 years. They felt the call to Thailand in 2005 and relocated to Chiang Rai, North Thailand in 2007. Since then, they have been active in working with the street children at the Burmese border, helping to love, care, feed and teach them, whilst at the same time building hope into their lives. They have also been helping to care for people affected by HIV/AIDS, teach English as a Second Language (ESL), and have had opportunities to share the love of God in schools and villages
In 2008, they felt led to build a home for children at risk and other vulnerable young people, so together with 2 Thai trustees, they formed a non-profit foundation registered in Thailand. In 2009, with the help of donations from friends and strangers, the foundation was able to raise enough money to buy 2 acres of Land. The design for the first house for the children was also approved. In 2010, donators again made it possible for the house to be built.
In 2011, the home was partially furnished. In May, we were able to give a home to a young 5 year old boy from an Akha hill tribe village ... our first boy. His Mum has been disabled from birth and he never knew his dad. His mum is now in a care home some 3 hours away. Although his new home is quite different from his village home, he is settling really well with the help of our great staff. He recently started school too, and after an unsure start he looks forward to his new world of education.
In 2012, three more boys was accepted to our home, therefore, there were all together 4 boys. They were Akha, Karen and, Lahu.
In 2013, Children home license was approved by the Social Development and Human Security of Chiang Rai. We were allowed to have 33 boys from the age of 3 to 18. This license have been renewed every year. In 2019, according to Thai law we have changed the minimum age requirement from 3 to 5 as we don't have a full-time nurse in our home.
In 2019, Andy & Val Simcock, the founder backed to UK just few months before the pandemic of COVID19. Pastor Srithong Sitthikankaew has been appointed as the President of the Foundation since 2021 and then. The latest Foundation trustees was officially approved by the Registrar of Foundation for Chiangrai in 2025 and last for 4 years. We are still keep continue what Andy & Val has started and explore more missions for the next chapter of our Foundation.
